PRIVACY POLICY
Introduction
This privacy policy explains how Toldy Limited (we, us, our) collects, uses, discloses, holds and protects personal information. We comply with the Privacy Act 2020 (the Act) when dealing with personal information.  Personal information is information about an identifiable individual (a natural person). 
 
You are not required to provide the personal information that we request but, if you choose not to do so, in many cases we will not be able to provide our service. 
 
Updates
We may change this policy by uploading a revised policy to our website (https://www.toldy.com/privacy-policy).  The change will apply from the date that we upload the revised policy.
 
How we collect personal information
We collect personal information about you:
·       directly from you, through contact with us (e.g. when you ask us a questions about our services, when you apply to us to use our services );
·       third parties, where you have authorised this or where the information is publicly available. 
Personal information we may collect includes your name, phone number, email address, residential address and other personally identifiable information. Where you are providing personal information on behalf of another person (for example the recipient of a message or item you are requesting us to deliver), you confirm that you are authorised to do so and that you are entitled to accept this privacy policy on that person’s behalf.
 
How we use personal information
We collect personal information for the following purposes:
·       to conduct verification checks in relation to you (to confirm that you are who you say you are) including verifying your name and residential addresses;
·       to provide our services to you (and to assist in improving our services);

·       to request feedback and to optimise user experience;

Who we disclose personal information to
We may disclose personal information to:  
·       service providers who support aspects of our service (where necessary), including (without limitation):
o   payment service providers (including credit card companies)
o   courier and postal service providers
o   companies that host, maintain or provide underlying IT systems and data centres that we use to provide our services including our website and app
o   verification service providers;
·       related companies that support us to provide our services;
·       relevant government agencies and service providers for the purpose of completing verification checks;
·       public bodies including the Police and Customs Service in New Zealand and in other countries (as relevant);
·       in connection with any legal, governmental or regulatory requirement, or in connection with legal proceedings, crime or fraud prevention, detection or prosecution;
·       debt collection agencies;
·       lawyers, other professionals and insurers, in connection with defending, protecting and/or enforcing our legal rights & interests;
·       any other person authorised by the Act or another law;
·       any other person authorised by you.
 
A business that supports provision of our services may be located outside New Zealand.  This may mean that personal information is held and processed outside New Zealand.  


Cookies and other data storing technologies
We use cookies, mobile device IDs, and similar data storage technologies when you visit our website and app (Platforms).  A cookie is a small block of text file stored on your device when you visit a website.  Cookies helps us to identify your browser, provide you with personalised services, and to advertise more effectively.  We also use third party analytics tools, which use cookies to monitor, collect, and information on traffic to, and the use of, the Platforms.
 
How we protect personal information
We will take steps that are reasonable in the circumstances to keep personal information safe from loss and from unauthorised access, use, modification, or disclosure.
 
How long we keep your information
We will retain personal information for as long as is reasonably required in connection with our services and for any longer period required by law.
 
Accessing and correcting personal information

While we take reasonable steps to maintain secure internet connections, if you provide us with personal information over the internet, the provision of that information is at your own risk.
 
If you follow a link on our app or website to another site, the owner of that site will have its own privacy policy relating to your personal information.  We recommend that the site’s privacy policy is reviewed before any personal information is provided.
